Delete your account & data

This page explains how to request deletion of your LedgerSnap account and all data associated with it. LedgerSnap is an AI-assisted receipt and expense tracking application for small business owners in Canada and the United States.

In short: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time — directly in the app (fastest) or by emailing support@ledgersnap.ai. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, so consider exporting your data first.

Before you delete: export your data

Tax records often need to be kept for several years. Because account deletion is permanent, we recommend exporting a copy first: in the app, go to Settings → Privacy & data → Export your data to download a full archive of your records and receipt images.

Option A — Delete in the app (fastest)

Open the LedgerSnap app and sign in.
Go to Settings → Privacy & data.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm. Your account and associated data are permanently removed.

Option B — Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, email us at support@ledgersnap.ai from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and then permanently delete your account and data. We action verified deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the data we hold for you, including:

Your account and sign-in credentials, name, and email address;
Your business profile(s) and tax settings;
Your financial records — receipts, bills, invoices, income, mileage, categories, and recurring rules;
Stored receipt, invoice, and document images and uploads;
Connected-service tokens (e.g. Gmail, Outlook) and any imported statement data.

What may be retained, and for how long

After deletion we may retain a limited amount of information only where required to meet legal, accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Any such data is kept only for as long as required and is then permanently deleted or anonymized. We do not keep your records for any other purpose, and we never sell your data.
